God’s Gift

Nathan and I have been friends for a long time. After I got to know him better, I learned that he got bullied a lot, and that he had no parents. That was the day I stood up for him, the day he inspired me, and the day he became my best friend. There are two reasons I admire Nathan. Those reasons are he is encouraging, and I trust him.

I am very encouraged by Nathan. As a kid who has a loving mother and father, I don’t know what I would do without them. Nathan, on the other hand, has no parents, but he still does great things. Next, he is a very respectful person. When my mom asks him and/or I to do something, he always does it. Most importantly, he is kind to everyone. Nathan has never hurt my feelings. If he says something that he thinks will hurt my feelings, he asks me if I want him to tell me.

One of the best things about Nathan is that I trust him. I have known Nathan for many years, and I haven’t seen him lie once. Every time I lie to my parents, Nathan tells them the truth and I’m thankful that he does that. At the same time, he always goes through with his promises. Most importantly, Nathan and I have a strong relationship. Once we did a trust fall. I felt so scared when I fell back. Shortly after, I felt Nathan catch me. “I know I can trust him now” I said to myself.

Luckily, I don’t see Nathan getting bullied anymore. Obviously, he still has no parents, but our house is basically a second home for him. Nathan, for this day and beyond, will always encourage me and be someone I trust.
